The common bearings of the cooling fan are: ball bearing, sleeve bearing, magnetic suspension bearing.
(Ball Bearing) changes the friction mode of the bearing, using rolling friction, with some steel balls or steel columns in the middle, and supplemented by some grease lubrication. This way more effectively reduces the friction between the bearing surface, effectively improves the service life of the fan bearing, thus reduces the heat value of the radiator, and extends the service life. The disadvantage is that the process is more complex, resulting in higher costs, as well as higher working noise
(Sleeve Bearing)) is a sleeve bearing using sliding friction, using lubricating oil as a lubricant and drag reducer. It can be said that it is the most common bearing technology in the market now. Due to the low cost and simple manufacturing, many products including well-known brands are still in use. Its advantages are quiet initial use, low noise, cheap price.
(Magnetic Bearing) is designed by magnetic levitation (Magnetic System, MS), which uses the magnetic force to suspend the rotor in the air, so that there is no mechanical contact between the rotor and the stator. The principle is that the magnetic induction line and the maglev line are vertical, and the shaft core is parallel to the maglev line, so the weight of the rotor is fixed on the running track, and the almost unloaded shaft core is used to support the direction of the reverse maglev line, forming the whole rotor suspended in the fixed running track.
Compared with the traditional ball bearing, magnetic bearing has no mechanical contact, the rotor can run to a high speed, has the advantages of small mechanical wear, low energy consumption, low noise, long life, no lubrication, no oil pollution, especially suitable for high speed, vacuum, ultra-clean and other special environment. In fact, maglev is only an auxiliary function, not an independent bearing form, and the specific applications must be combined with other bearing forms, such as magnetic levitation + ball bearing, magnetic levitation + oil bearing, magnetic levitation + vaporized bearing and so on.
